The Butcher on Whitlock's owner, Scott Grieve, boasts a culinary background that spans more than 40 years in the food industry. He's earned a sound reputation as a foodie who “knows how to cut steaks and cook them well.” Scott acquires fine meats and prepares foods with an in-depth passion for cooking, entertaining, and personal service.
He got his start in restaurant kitchens at the age of 15. A graduate of The New England Culinary Institute, he's worked long and hard to achieve his professional career. Scott honed his skills working in restaurants and hotels around the world, from New York City and Napa Valley to Hong Kong and beyond. As a lifelong student of culinary excellence, he's on a mission to educate others about premium-sourced proteins, exciting new provisions, fine wines, craft beers, and the art of preparing and sharing great food with family and friends.
At The Butcher on Whitlock, Scott integrates his knowledge and experience with a personal approach that is accessible, personal, and friendly. His store is driven by a genuine desire to source the finest products and deliver an exceptional customer experience rather than an elitist perspective to the culinary arts.
Scott and his wife, Nancy, reside in the historic district of Marietta, GA where they live, work, and play in the community they love.
